we messed it up.

listen up.

This composition was sparked by an incredible event called Prompt for The Planet. It was an absolute honor to have been nominated to create and perform an original tune celebrating the truths of climate change.

After writing this tune, I called up my friend, Bryan Vanderpool from Goldenbear Studios and told him I HAD to record this so we could share this song with a wider audience than a one-time live performance. This simple song lifts simple truths. (Have you noticed how the fireflies are disappearing? Gosh I really loved chasing after those in the summer). I knew I wanted a large choir to accompany my melody, so Bryan and I laid down the higher vocal parts. Then I invited my oldest bonus son and some of his friends to come in and lay down the bass/baritone/tenor parts.

I’m proud of this song and how it can be digested by all generations. Here’s to making waves and telling the truth with your voice.
